"Go Froge!" is a top-down shooter game where you play as a frog eating dragonflies. Different dragonflies score different points, and running into any obstacle ends the game. Aim for a high score, and survive as long as possible!
This is the first game that I actually called "complete." Now, "complete" is a very different term from "good," but I was very much able to not have "good" be my goal with this project. As I've never made any games outside of class assignments where we'd learn basic C#/Unity tasks, I wanted to do something completely different.
For "Go Froge!," I wanted to do a little bit of work on each aspect of a game. This means I did the programming, design, artwork, music, and user interface. Everything had to stay somewhat simple for me to stay with the short deadline I had for this project, but I remember working really hard to reach those goals. Memorably, this was the first time I was able to enter a "flow state" with my own game design work! Hours would pass of me just, creating. It felt right.
The final game isn't much to write home about. It's a rather sticky, slightly nauseating game with very... odd music. The UI is incredibly poor, being very hard to read and rather inconsistent with the game's, well, anything. Regardless, I'm happy that I can call this my first "finished" project.
